DISTANCE 1912 KM. WEIGHT 211 LBS. BATTLE OF THE FLUB.

Two hours and 19 minutes for 50+ km. today and got in before the bell went off and all the morons appeared. Did get my mirror clipped by a brian dead who opened his passenger side door without looking over his shoulder, did more damage to his paint job than to my mirror. We stood in the street cussing each other out and then I hopped on the bike and made my exit.

Met Ken at Delaneys and had one of their excellent capuchins. Was going to go over to Granville Island and get some day olds at my favorite donut shop but decided to go to the Salty Tongue instead and have their Salmon Scramble, raw salmon filet on scrambled eggs and pan fried potatoes with  feta cheese, it was to die for!

Slept well last night, went to bed at 21:15 hrs. when I got bored watching Bill Moyer with a panel of religious teachers bleating about the lack of a moral and ethical conscience  exhibited by the elite in the current economic crash, I thought, tell us something we don't know, switched off and went to bed and my dreams.

Ciao, JWL

Well, I have to say that I didn't see the Bill Moyers episode, as I was watching GANGS OF NEW YORK, an excellent movie about the Irish experience in NY during the Tamanny Hall/Boss Tweed years...a most excellent film, but I have to say that Bill Moyers is a fave of mine. Very bright for being born in Texas, very close to the World's Largest Dogwood Tree, which happens to be in Rusk, Texas. That's the trivia for now. I'm off to get the Salmon Scramble at the Tongue, if they're still offering it at this time!

Yo Oldtimer, Ive been sitting on my back deck drinking the best white wine in the world and watching the airshow here in Trenton. The Snowbirds performing, refueling jets in the air, bi-planes.....you name it. They have the last Lancaster bomber still flying here, but haven't seen it yet. Trust me it is a photographers paradise here this weekend. Of course being posted here for close to eight years, I met many Air Force flyers and tradesmen. As a matter of fact I played golf this morning in a town close to here with one of the old pilots. I guess my biggest thrill was taking off from the deck of HMCS Bonaventure in 1965. The landing was a thing of beauty and quite an experience. I spent four months on her in the Carribean Ocean. Spent Mardi Gras in Rio and Carnivale in Trinidad that year and all I can say is WOW!!! Wish you were here my friend with camera in hand enjoying the clean fresh air of small town Ontario, taking shots of the Air Force at work. Sleep and dream well, Your old buddy, Doug. (DJD)
