Remember, daylight saving time
is over, so roll over and have an extra hour
of sleep.

Oscar Wilde is quoted as saying "A cynic knows the price of everything but the value of nothing." Unfortunately for the rest of us we rarely know the value of anything until after it is gone.
Was talking to my daughter via e mail this morning about grief and she said that she really missed her Mom. I told her that some of my very best years were when her Mom and I were together and have spent the last two hour in a terrible funk about woulda, coulda but didn't, sins of omission and commission that ultimately end up as grief. In our heart of hearts we know what the right thing to do is but sometimes lack the courage or the will to do it and then it is far too late.
The past is the baggage we carry in the present and impose on the future. Somethings can never be repaired and the world and our presence therein are always on the edge of chaos. We start simply enough and then add layers of complexity until we know longer recognize the problem and can only deal with the incorrect solutions we tried to use to fix the problem. As Pogo said, "We have see d the problem and it are us."
To hell with today's grief, the sun is shinning and I've decided to ignore the grief and be happy.
