I have just modified my computer desk so that my keyboard is padded to take the pressure off my wrists. I have a tendency to lean my head on my elbow while reading the monitor. This has caused a callus to form on my elbow which catches on my shirt and if I pull at the scales off an open sore is ensues and blood stains appear on my shirts. On top of that, it smarts like hell.
Hope friend Billy "W" is well after his knee operation, as I said in a previous blog sometimes these sort of operations can take a long time to heal. I miss Billy's daily comments on my blogs and his very prolific poetry and poem out put.
I'm listening to CBC1 a very spirited argument over "honor killing" and the very powerful arguments on either side. One being that murder is murder and cultural biases are not relevant. The other that "honor killing" should not be challenged because this was imposing dominant culture values on minority cultures.
To accept the second premise would be an open door to sanctioned murder in those societies. In a secular democracy we cannot succumb to the concept of "honor killing". If it appears that the dominant society is imposing its concept on a minority society, so be it.
