DECIBEL

DECIBEL

A mark of wealth
is how much silence
you can afford,
a silence
only broken by  the songs of birds
 and your
own spoken word.
The construction site
sixty feet from my balcony
resounds in a hundred decibel
cacophony.
Blotting out all rational thought
to go with the choking dust
being raised.
Thank the fates and God be praised
for  a quiet Sunday and goodness
because we are lead to believe that this
is progress.
For myself this is a form
of urban hell
right down to the last
mutherf@*&%+g
decibel.

Like the rat-a-tat-tat of your old .50 cal - the jack hammer noise is pollution in the street near your home - midst the noise and dust you wrote a great poem - your poem it speaks volumes about your environment you know - Tomorrow is Sunday and the construction crew will go - you will get some relief on the Lord's day of rest - Your day without noise pollution will, I hope be the best - be well my friend - blessings - billy
