Having one of those days when everything is going sideways. First the pension foul up where the government department sent out the notice late and then penalized us pensioners by withholding approx. one third of the pension for the month of August because we couldn't reply quickly enough to fit their system. Its going to be a very skinny month although they have promised to make up the difference in September. I don't know if they can be trusted to make good on their promise being as these bureaucratic screw ups tend to escalate rather that get solved.
I did something very stupid last night and volunteered to be the interim chair of the Membership committee. I think I have just poked a wasps nest of trouble being that I'm now getting e mails from the office about people who were moving out but now have decided to stay. Of course this has all been done verbally but our administrator rightly demands that it be done in writing.
Got the date for my operation this fall 13 November at UBC hospital and more paper work. I'm going to spend tomorrow getting rid of all the redundant paper work I've collected from the various committees that I'm on. My dining table is covered with it. You have to know that due to the tenets of Murphy's Law that I will need one of the discarded pieces of paper in some sort of pseudo crisis with idiots running in circles around you yelling "The Sky is falling, the sky is falling,"
Had a pleasant interlude this afternoon with good friend Johnny "de" we had a bowl of snapper soup down at the Granville Island Market after my medical appointment. Then I came home and crashed for three hours. Missed the Tour de France this morning but will get the rebroadcast this evening.
