WE WON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN, but don't bet on it.

A creative block, the doldrums of fall are here, there is less light and aside from street lights and the occasional un-shuttered window there is no natural light. Kinda suits my mood, there must be some bear in my DNA because I seem to want to hibernate and have very little energy to do anything else.

Yesterday the blog site crashed for awhile and I used that as an excuse to not write anything yesterday not even in my hand written journal. I just goofed off all day and except for getting some of the symbols to JH to paint on my grand daughters hoodie did absolutely nothing yesterday.

As I stroke my unshaven face and drink my first coffee I'll surf the internet news channels and listen to CBC1 to see if there is any inspiration there. The announcers are prattling along about the traffic patterns during the Olympics where average Vancouverites will be greatly inconvenienced by the Olympics but except for providing back ground noise about how thrilled we all are about throwing this party for the rich and the opportunity to go ga ga over the Olympic torch relay and the hopeful fact that we will reign triumphant in several obscure winter pastimes and get into the rah, rah, Canada B.S. that these games always elicit, we will not have the opportunity to attend because of the cost.

Of course we could always volunteer to wait hand and foot on the half wits rich enough to attend these rather obscure publicly financed venues, our so called legacy, and quite frankly I can hardly wait to make use of the facilities. I've never skied down a ski jump and never have taken my rifle out to plink targets while I'm cross country skiing or done a Hans  Brinker around the speed skating oval with the other fifty people in the lower mainland who are interested in speed skating. Six hundred thousand for that little trinket, such a deal.

Of course if I have a spare 10 thou for a sled and can find another three idiots to practice with me on the bobsled run, such fun. Then of course I can take a ride on the subway out to the airport and pay a premium for the privilege, although why I would go out to the airport unless it was to catch a plane or get tasered I can't see why I would avail myself of that dubious pleasure, especially when I can hop in the old Porsche and whiz up to my chalet in Whistler on the billion dollar upgrade and shave almost forty minutes of the time it takes to get there.  The only catch being I don't own a Porsche or have a chalet and don't ski, but I get to help pay for all these exotic playthings through my taxes in the present and my children and grand childrens taxes in the future.

I see that the shine is off the Obama image in the USA where the public has found that except for some of the optics the new boss is the same as the old boss. It is ever thus.

Ciao, JWL

just spent some time wiping spray off my computer screen from giving the Olympic announcements the "raspberries".

I see the Federal Auditor General says there no coherent planning for any sort of emergency be it pandemics, terrorist or financial within the Federal bureaucracy. Why am I not surprised?

Very good entry over at "AKAmamma"

You start your page with the Chinese symbol for horse "Ma" - Chinese is similar to old English ie gagglel of geese flock of hens etc etc - the measure word for horse is "Pi" pronounced pee. Which means stink. ie Yi pee ma (one stining horse). Nin bu yau tow kou fang pi ( don't tell me that I know it) You not have to tear off your trousers to fart) - iN THE CHARACTER note the animals flowing mane and the four legs - I owe these little things to my teacher, Mr Tan who taught me swearing and slang, one of the most important things one has to learn when absorbing a new language. Happy Olympics -Zai Jian gen Yi lu ping an - billy
