YESTERDAY WAS MY LUCKY DAY
According to the Chinese horoscope yesterday is the luckiest day of the year. I suppose I could say ninth of August in 1935 was my lucky day, it was the day of my conception. August has always been the month of major changes in my life both positive and negative. Other months are neutral except May, my birth month, when most of the negative changes come about. I don't think I'm superstitious because my history confirms these trends. Perhaps they are merely self fulfilling situations where you believe you will have bad luck and you do.
I got my resignation letter for the Membership committee written up and sent it on to Bob "C" for him to look over. I received another nasty e mail from the one on the committee who views me as some sort of devil incarnate. She has taken it upon herself to lecture me on my manners and other PC crap. I will ignore her as much as possible but let it be known that I will not serve on any Co-op function where she is present. She is a person of slight accomplishment who back bites and criticizes but does little else.
Other people are quite taken in by her but I view her as being a toxic influence in any situation. I won't spend any more time fretting about this, it gives her too much power.
Sue came over and dropped off a resume of one of the people who may help us get funding for, "Its about the Music", a documentary history of the Blues at the Yale hotel. We had a good talk and now because I've cleared the decks of most of my Co-op duties I can concentrate on the Yale project. I should have an impressive package for Sue to pitch by the end of the month. I haven't heard the sound track yet but I can assemble the rest and then drop it in if its suitable.
Time to go out for a walk and a coffee and do my hand written journal, I've stopped asking Ken and Bob to come and share the coffee klatch. They rarely respond and have an attitude that they are doing me a big favor when they do show up. If they come they come but I won't be asking them any more.
Talk about being compulsive, I was in Chapters yesterday and gawking around at the bric a brac they sell when I picked up a suede covered journal and just had to have it . Here I am almost completely broke and I blow thirty four dollars on two journals when I already have five spares at my digs. Like beautiful women and flowers there are some things I cannot resist.
La Dolce Vita!
Ciao, JWL
